Photorejuvenation

The AFT 570-950nm IPLS is an extremely effective choice for skin rejuvenation. The basic principle of skin rejuvenation is the selective photo-thermolysis, i.e. selective heating of the target to various temperatures depending on the type of lesion – without damage to surrounding tissue. The AFT 570-950nm IPLS Harmony hand piece can be used effectively to treat multiple conditions including:

  • Pigmentation reduction
  • Dyschromia improvement (Evenly coloured skin)
  • Thread vein removal
  • Shrinkage of pore size
  • Tightening of tissue through collagen fibre shrinkage
  • Sun and age spots
  • Red blotchiness
  • Fine lines

The number of treatments required varies depending on the condition. Aged or sun-damaged skin requires 2-6 subsequent treatments depending on the type of lesion. Treatment schedule is typically an initial treatment followed by 2-5 treatment sessions each a minimum of three weeks apart.

We can combine different types of therapy .

By combining mild chemical peels with the benefits of Phototherapy and/or treatment with a vascular laser. Dead skin cells are removed from the surface, by means of the peel, leaving a fresh and healthy appearance.

An Intense Pulsed Light machine is then used to progressively improve the skin tone and texture in the following ways:

  • Stimulates collagen and elastin production, deep within the dermis, increasing skin elasticity and strength.
  • Reduces pigmentation problems, giving skin a more even colour.
  • Reduces fine thread veins, thereby reducing general skin redness, it also works well on Rosacea.

What are the clinical results?

It is possible to produce softer, smoother skin, more uniform in colour and with less visible pores. Fine lines and wrinkles can be softened and some may disappear. Three to six treatment sessions take place, four weeks apart, and the results are evident at the end of the course of treatments, and will continue to improve for some weeks following. Further maintenance sessions may be required in the future as further effects of previous sun damage become obvious.

Does the treatment hurt?

IPL/vascular laser treatment is not painful but it is uncomfortable, it involves a stinging sensation. Cooling gel is used, in combination with either cool packs or a cold air blower to keep the treatment comfortable. Post treatment cooling is also advised.

Who is suitable for this treatment?

Generally speaking, this treatment works best for clients who still have reasonable skin elasticity. This is not necessarily dictated by age, however, as some people in their fifties will have better skin quality than others in their forties. You will be advised of your suitability for this treatment at consultation.
