Pigmentation

What Treatments are Available to Decrease the Level of Melanin Affecting Pigmentation?

We can use the melanin targeting properties of lasers, Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) systems, in combination with our Skin Med and Tebitech product ranges. There are specific chemical peels in Tebitechs medical range of Enerpeels to help reverse some common pigmentary problems:

We can also use our Pixel fractional skin resurfacing laser to treat Chloasma and Melasma (see Fractional Laser skin Resurfacing under Skin Rejuvenation)

AFT 570-950nm Photo rejuvenation of the skin

The AFT 570-950nm IPLS hand piece is an extremely effective choice for skin Rejuvenation including pigmentation reduction. The basic principle of skin rejuvenation is the selective photo-thermolysis, i.e. selective heating of the target to various temperatures depending on the type of lesion – without damage to surrounding tissue.

The AFT 579-950nm IPLS Hand piece can be used effectively for multiple treatments including:

  • Pigmentation reduction
  • Dyschromia improvement (Evenly coloured skin)
  • Thread vein removal
  • Shrinkage of pore size
  • Tightening of tissue through collagen fibre shrinkage
  • Sun and age spots (Lentigo)
  • Red blotchiness
  • Fine lines

The number of treatments required varies depending on the condition. Aged or sun-damaged skin requires 2-5 subsequent treatments depending on the type of lesion. Treatment schedule is typically an initial treatment followed by 2-4 treatment sessions each a minimum of three weeks apart.

Sun blocks are also recommended to reduce and prevent pigmentation from occurring.
