AMANDA J MOAKSOM
Partner, Business founder and Laser/Skin Specialist
The business was successful and it was decided in 1996 to move the business nearer to Cardiff to the bustling Market town of Cowbridge in the Vale of Glamorgan, South Wales. In 2001 Amanda moved to larger premises in Cowbridge and converted a large pub and car park into a 15 treatment room Elemis Day Spa and Cosmetic Laser Clinic with her partner and husband Neil. The business continued to grow from strength to strength and by 2008 there were a total of 12 staff. Amanda is a trained laser therapist, electrolysis practitioner, and partner in the business as well as mother to her two daughters Eli and Ana. Amanda is proud to offer our discerning male and female clientele the very best in Spa therapy, aesthetic treatments, cosmetic procedures, and a full injectable service all under the same roof.
NEIL T MOAKSOM
Partner, registered manager and laser specialist at Beauty Within medi-spa
Neil worked for 20 Years as an Avionics engineer with Honeywell Avionics Systems LTD in Basingstoke, the last 6 years as “Honeywell Avionics Technical Manager” working as an implant at British Airways Avionics Engineering (BAAE) in Llantrisant South Wales. Here he managed a small team of people based within the British airways facility. Knowledge of various Laser based Avionic equipment was gained while employed with Honeywell. That technical knowledge was to help after leaving Honeywell Avionics systems LTD in November 2000 and setting up Beauty Within medi-spa and aesthetic laser practice with his wife in Cowbridge, south Wales.
Neil is the registered manager at Beauty Within medi-spa as well as partner and laser specialist in the business for the past 15 years. The facility has been registered with the Health Inspectorate for Wales since January 2001. During his time here time Neil has performed numerous different types of Laser/light based treatment procedures and likes to offer the latest cutting edge technology to his clients. Neil gained a Level 4 BTEC Professional Edexcel Award in Principles of Laser, Light & Associated Aesthetic Therapies in October 2013 at Mapperley Park Clinic in Nottingham.

Doctor Spencer will soon be performing an innovative procedure using bidirectional absorbable thread cones to provide lifting contouring and volumising in the lower face and giving a fresher more youthful appearance.
Doctor Spencer annually completes over 100 hrs of continual Professional Development (CPD) having a special interest in Dento-Facial Cosmetic Treatments and is a sustained full member of the British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, GDC number: 79368

Mandy qualified with a VTCT, City and guilds level 2 and 3 in beauty therapy and gained her Master’s degree in beauty therapy at a later date. Mandy has been active in the beauty industry for over 32 years running her own beauty salon in Cowbridge before working here as Manager at Beauty Within Medi-Spa with a team of 9 therapists for 13 years. Teaching has always been in Mandy’s blood and therefore a new chapter in her life was about to begin. A teaching degree was completed in Surrey to qualify Mandy to teach and train in New treatments and different product lines in her new environment near London. This was to be for several years but in her own words “I missed being hands on and when an opportunity to come back to the “Land of my Fathers” (Beauty Within Medi-Spa) arose, I couldn’t wait to come back!.

Hello everyone. My name is Yana and I am a trained Nurse and cosmetologist from Ukraine. I have been working in the beauty industry for more than 10 years and I have learnt a lot about quality services. I like to make women look and feel even more beautiful and emphasize their natural qualities. I enjoy providing result driven treatments such as HydraFacial, Sofwave, EMSCULT NEO, and Dermapen FNS to list but a few. Cutting edge non-invasive aesthetic treatments that provide subtleness and natural long-lasting results are my favourite treatments and I am sure that they will also become an integral part in enhancing your beautiful perfect image.

I qualified as a level 3 beauty therapist in the city of Bath and worked in The Health and Beauty Centre for four years before I moved to South Wales and joined the team at Beauty Within medi-spa in June 2015. Since then I have qualified as a fully trained Elemis Face and Body therapist. I really enjoy meeting new people and practising all aspects of beauty therapy from massages to nail treatments and waxing. I also specialise in eye aesthetic treatments such as the ever popular Lash lift, a lasting eye opening lash treatment that helps to emphasize the eyes and offer a natural look alternative to the daily use of mascara and the mechanical eye lash curler.

I have 25 years experience as a Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine My training was at the South West College of Oriental Medicine in Bristol, as part of my training I studied in China at the Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. My Clinical Internship was at the Shuguang Hospital in Central Shanghai (featured on a BBC2 series on alternative health), where I studied with some of the world’s leading doctors in acupuncture.
My specialist field of practice is Female Health and Fertility, I have worked in multi-discipline natural health clinics also in NHS doctors surgeries and hospitals in Gloucestershire, Cumbria, Cardiff and The Vale of Glamorgan. I work in conjunction with fertility clinics in Cardiff and South Wales. I also work with Breast Cancer Now.
I continue my personal development training at The Northern College of Chinese Medicine in York and The College of Integrated Chinese Medicine in Reading. I have also studied with a leading acupuncturist and herbalist, Giovanni Macciocia, and with female heath acupuncture specialists Zita West and Debra Betts. Fields of study covered are Gynecology and Obstetrics in Acupuncture, Treating Endometriosis and Polycystic Ovary Syndrome, Unexplained Infertility, Recurrent Miscarriage, Menopausal Syndrome, Treating symptoms from Chemotherapy and Radiotherapy, Treatment of Multiple Sclerosis with Acupuncture, Effective use of Electro-acupuncture for pain relief, Nutritional Therapy, and Qi-Gong for Health.
