TREATMENT
A series of carefully placed injections will be administered to help soften the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles while maintaining natural-looking results. Using a very fine needle, small amounts of product are precisely injected into the targeted areas to relax specific facial muscles and create a smoother, more refreshed appearance.
Treatment is tailored to your individual concerns and aesthetic goals, with the procedure typically taking 30 – 45 minutes depending on the areas being treated.
AFTERCARE
Following treatment, we recommend avoiding touching or rubbing the treated areas for at least 24 hours to minimise the risk of product movement. You should also avoid strenuous exercise, excessive heat, saunas, steam rooms, and direct sun exposure for the first few days after treatment to support optimal results and recovery. What to Avoid
For the first 24 hours after treatment, avoid:
- Touching, rubbing, or massaging the treated areas
- Lying flat for at least 4 hours after your appointment
- Vigorous exercise or strenuous activity
- Excessive heat such as saunas, steam rooms, hot baths, or sunbeds
- Alcohol consumption
- Facials, chemical peels, or other skin treatments for 2 weeks
- Wearing tight headwear that may place pressure on the treated area
You should also avoid applying heavy makeup immediately after treatment if the skin feels sensitive.
Mild redness, swelling, tenderness, or small bumps at the injection sites can be normal and usually settle quickly.

HOW LONG WILL THE EFFECTS LAST FOR?
Neurotoxins like Botox eventually wear off, allowing the nerves to once again send signals to the muscles and cause contractions.
Botox tends to last 3-4 months for most of our patients. However, dosing size, treatment area, how long you’ve been using neurotoxins, and your individual metabolic rate can all impact the longevity of this treatment.
WHAT IS THE PRE-APPOINTMENT PREP FOR ANTI-WRINKLE INJECTIONS?
- Do not drink alcohol for at least 24 hours prior.
- Avoid blood-thinning or anti-inflammatory medications for at least two weeks beforehand. If you’re prescribed a blood thinner for medical reasons, you should call us to discuss.
WHAT AGE SHOULD YOU START ANTI-WRINKLE INJECTIONS?
Anti-wrinkle injections are approved for patients who are 18 years or older, but we recommend starting preventative treatment in your mid-to-late 20s or early 30s.
IS BOTOX SAFE?
Neuromodulators like Botox are very safe. They have very few side effects and are some of the most well-researched medications out there.
Bruising or swelling may occur at the injection site and some patients experience headaches.
Neuromodulators are NOT recommended for people who are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have a neurological disease.
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU STOP ANTI-WRINKLE INJECTIONS?
When your neurotoxin wears off, your muscles will gradually regain movement in the treatment area. As muscle activity returns to regular levels, expression lines and wrinkles will slowly reappear.
WHERE ON THE FACE ARE ANTI-WRINKLE INJECTIONS ADMINISTERED?
Botox injections are often administered around the forehead and eye area to reduce the appearance of horizontal forehead lines, frown lines between the eyebrows, and crows feet. Fillers are commonly injected into areas such as the nasolabial folds (smile lines), marionette lines (lines that run from the corners of the mouth to the chin), and cheeks. The specific areas for your treatment depend on your individual concerns and desired results.
